What is vDumpsters ?
vDumpsters is designed to reduce the number of items being sent to landfill. The idea is simple - Instead of hiring a real dumpster for your unwanted items you create a virtual dumpster or "vDumpster" and upload your items for other people to search and claim. Recirculating in this way helps to reduce unnecesary landfill and has a positive effect on global warming.

How much does vDumpsters cost ?
vDumpsters is completely FREE ! In order to moderate use of vDumpsters we simply ask that you register as a member. Doing so enables you to contact vDumpster owners and claim items you are interested in.

How do I get my FREE vDumpster ?
Easy. When you register you are allocated a green vDumpster (for offering items) and a blue vDumpster (for requesting wanted items). Simply click here register. Your virtual dumpsters will be created immediately and you can start adding items straight away !

Can I create additional vDumpsters ?
No. You can only have one green vDumpster and one blue vDumpster per account, but there is nothing to stop you creating more than one account if you want to.

How do I add items to my vDumpsters ?
Login using the username and password that were sent to the email address you provided when you created your free vDumpster.

What can I put in my vDumpsters ?
You can put anything you like in your vDumpsters so long as it's not illegal, dangerous or offensive to others.

Can I charge for items in my vDumpsters ?
No. All items must be offered FREE for collection. If you notice someone charging for items please contact us.

How do I edit the content of my vDumpsters ?
Login using the username and password that were sent to the email address you provided when you created your free vDumpster. Delete the item you wish to amend and then add it as a new item to your vDumpster.

No worries. Use the password reminder link on the login page. Just enter the email address that you used when you originally registered with vDumpsters. If you still experience difficulties logging in please contact us.

How do I make my vDumpsters easier for people to find ?
When entering items into your vDumpster try to use words and phrases that people are likely to enter. Use variations of the words if necessary. Also, make sure that your vDumpsters have the correct postcode allocated to them.

How do I search vDumpsters ?
Enter the item you are looking for in the search box at the top of each page. Type in your full postcode and the distance you are willing to travel to collect items. Then click the "Dive vDumpsters" button. You might also like to try "Random Skip Diving" - you never know what you might find !
